Find Richmond County Traffic Court

Start with the court name and number printed on your Richmond County traffic ticket, because that tells you which office holds the record. A Richmond County traffic court docket shows the hearing date, plea events, and outcome for a citation. Some eligible cases can be handled through a payment search. Others require an appearance and stay with the court. Depending on where the ticket was issued, the record may sit with a municipal clerk rather than the county State Court. Paying a fine and contesting a ticket carry different legal effects, so confirm the court date and current case status before you pick either path.

Traffic Case Records in Richmond County

Eligible minor driving offenses committed in Richmond County on or after January 1, 2014 go through the State Court's Traffic Violations Bureau. It is known as the TVB. Several offices share that system. The State Court, Solicitor General, Clerk, Sheriff, and the issuing agencies all play a part. The court file can hold the citation, the charge, the setting, a plea, a payment or trial event, and the final disposition.

Not every local ticket belongs there, though. A citation may instead name Augusta-Richmond County, Hephzibah, or Blythe municipal court. The court printed on the ticket controls. Paying through a city page is not the same as searching the Richmond County State Court docket. The issuing agency's name alone may not tell you which clerk holds the case.

Richmond Traffic Violations Bureau

The official Richmond Traffic Violations Bureau page lays out the local route for minor offenses, what the office covers, and how to pay. A State Court order created the TVB in 2013 with the Augusta Commission's consent. It works at the court level. So a matched payment record also points back to that court. It shows a pending traffic case there.

The official TVB page is the main county route for eligible State Court traffic citations.

The TVB answers its phone at 706-826-1384, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Questions about traffic prosecution go to the Solicitor General at 735 James Brown Boulevard, Suite 2500. One rule keeps it simple. Use the TVB for an eligible State Court citation. Use the named municipal clerk for a city-court one.

Richmond County Traffic Ticket Lookups

The Augusta-linked PayYourTix form searches by citation and by case, but it doubles as a payment portal. A match is not the court's full file. Enter the exact last name and identifying number from the ticket. Also know that mandatory-appearance matters cannot be paid online.

  1. Read the court name, appearance date, case number, and citation number from the ticket.
  2. For a Richmond TVB matter, open the official payment instructions and follow its PayYourTix link.
  3. Choose Georgia and Augusta, then enter the required last name and case number.
  4. Use the citation number, or the license number when the portal permits that alternative.
  5. If no match appears, call the TVB or named municipal court, then visit the correct clerk if a copy is needed.

The Georgia Courts E-Access Court Records directory can point you to provider options. Georgia has no single public statewide portal that replaces the Richmond clerk, however. When a citation has not posted yet or is not eligible for web payment, the clerk's counter and phone channels still matter.

Richmond Traffic PayYourTix Fields

PayYourTix presents Georgia and Augusta selectors, then asks for a case number and last name. The form has an error rule. Under it, a driver's-license number can stand in for the citation number. Its cash-bond checkbox goes further. You must acknowledge the plea and rights consequences before any payment goes through.

Partial payments are off the table, and the official FAQ requires multiple citations to be paid together. Read every matched citation before you submit funds.

Traffic Court Dates in Richmond County

Start with the date printed on the citation. Then confirm it against the Richmond State Court calendar or with the named court. The official payment page says citations are normally processed 10 to 12 days before court, so an early search can miss a valid ticket. A reset is not a dismissal. If the date changes, the written court notice controls.

Citation NumberUse the exact printed identifier, such as CITATION #; no single local digit pattern was verified.

The Court Information office sends uncertain settings to court staff and the Solicitor. A missing online row does not mean a new date.

Richmond Traffic Two-Day Cutoff

The official online-payment instructions set a hard line: pay no later than two days before court. They also bar online payment for mandatory-appearance cases. A phone-payment route exists at 866-339-0646, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The payment page shows timing and eligibility limits that a portal result alone may not explain.

A ticket that only appears close to court should go by phone to the TVB or the issuing court. The deadline stands even when a web search comes up empty.

Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It

Read PayYourTix's cash-bond acknowledgment closely. Payment counts as a guilty plea. It produces a conviction report to the Georgia Department of Driver Services. It also waives the listed trial rights. Fighting the ticket is different. You appear on the printed date, enter a not-guilty plea, and request a bench or jury trial as allowed. From there the case goes to the Solicitor General, and later notice follows.

Missed Richmond Court Date: Only extreme circumstances qualify for rescheduling, and a missed required appearance may lead to a bench warrant.

Before paying, read every acknowledgment; clearing a web-page balance is not all it does.

Richmond Appearance-Required Tickets

The revised Traffic Violations Bureau Bond Order splits two groups. Payable offenses sit on one side. Charges that require an appearance sit on the other. Appearance triggers include speeding 31 or more miles per hour above the limit. They also include a third speeding offense within five years. Certain school-zone or work-zone cases count too. The official order was revised January 5, 2026. Check the current TVB Bond Order for exact categories and sums. The list can change.

If PayYourTix refuses your payment, do not assume a technical glitch. Call the TVB and ask whether the charge requires an appearance.

Two Records: Court File and Driver File

Two different files hold the pieces of a traffic case. One is the court docket, kept by Richmond State Court, the TVB, or a municipal clerk depending on where the ticket landed. The other is the Georgia driving record. The Department of Driver Services maintains that file as it receives conviction reports. Knowing which file you need simply routes the request to the right office.

What follows covers the Richmond County court docket and court date side of that split, not the state driving file.

Richmond Municipal Ticket Routes

Hephzibah and Blythe each run their own municipal-court route. Their payment pages are not substitutes for Richmond State Court records. Before paying anything, match the court name printed on the citation. Hephzibah links to GovernmentWindow, while Blythe links to nCourt. Either page may accept payment without showing a full public docket.

If the municipal ticket never appears, call that city court. Keep the citation number handy. Ask for the court date, the case status, and the way to request copies. Skip Augusta’s citywide Open Records portal, since it excludes court files. The city pages state no transfer or appeal route. So the municipal clerk is the one to confirm it.

Traffic Record Copy Fees

The Richmond TVB publishes no current fee schedule for plain, certified, or research copies of traffic records. The Civil and Magistrate fee PDF covers filing and service only, so its amounts answer a different question. Ask the clerk holding the citation for a written quote before you order anything.

A dollar figure on PayYourTix is a bond or case balance, never a copy fee.

When Richmond Tickets Stay Hidden

A Richmond County traffic citation that does not show up online usually has a simple fix. First, check whether the normal posting window has simply passed. Then confirm the jurisdiction you searched matches the court printed on the ticket. For an eligible State Court matter, call the TVB at 706-826-1384. For a city case, call the municipal clerk. If a phone check solves nothing, bring the citation to the right counter.

Ask there to confirm the hearing setting, the case status, and the copy-request route. A missing online result does not erase the appearance date. Augusta’s Open Records queue still will not handle court files. Georgia’s E-Access directory does not replace the local office.
